Bridal Veil Falls

The morning dawned but it was very gloomy. We explored some beaches in the immediate area and then drove to Bridal Veil Falls, about half an hour away. The track there is a gradual downhill as you follow a stream for about 15 minutes. Then you arrive at a platform that views the 55-meter falls from a great vantage point at the top. We then continued on the track as it descends 261 steps to the bottom of the falls.

The weather was deteriorating, so our options for things to do were getting limited. I had noted a huge series of geocaches on the road to the falls, so we decided to hunt for them. Many of them were hard to find, and they really didn’t take us to anyplace interesting. So we kind of got bored with that much sooner than anticipated.

We decided to head into town. It had been awhile since either of us had caught up on email and there was a source or two for free WiFi. Fred noticed that Paul had left his camera mount on our tripod the day before, so we needed to find a post office to return it to him. Although it was cute, there really wasn’t much to the town as it only ran a couple of blocks from what we could tell. I think I casually looked for some T-shirts for the boys. I didn’t have any luck, so we decided to head back to our campsite and have a glass of wine and cheese.
