Craft your tests to be valuable.

A common request of reliability professionals is to design a set of reliability tests. Many rely on various standards such as 85°C / 85%RH, to determine if a system is reliable, yet the standards do not provide a means to translate the results to your specific situation.

Instead focus on the likely failure mechanisms and design a test that help you either confirm and existing model to create a new one. Pulling out a the set of standards is easy and gets the planning done. Yet it doesn’t really help you understand the reliability performance of your product.

In this discussion let’s explore how to craft a reliability test plan that actually provides value to your team.

This Accendo Reliability webinar originally broadcast on 11 August 2015.

Abstract.
