Seminar Objective and Overview
As the demands and expectations on reliability engineering continue to grow, and amidst the “faster-better-cheaper” corporate mantra and the ever-increasing complexity of today’s products, the profession must adapt and evolve its processes and methods to meet these demands while at the same time minimizing the program costs and maximizing the return on investment (ROI) of each reliability engineering activity. To achieve this, we must move away from today’s discrete, sequential and self-contained activity mindset, towards a more holistic approach that synthesizes the program’s activities into a single continuous self-improving process. Doing so provides a structured continuity that eliminates costly activity overlaps and enables organizations to leverage work and knowledge from the combined whole, thus maximizing the overall benefit and associated ROI.
This one-day seminar outlines shortcomings in current processes and presents a new DFR-focused approach that addresses the current gaps and limitations. It illustrates the new process using a step-by-step example for a new product, starting with the concept phase and progressing through design, manufacturing and field deployment. The example also utilizes ReliaSoft’s new Synthesis Platform to facilitate the activities.
