Failure Mode and Effect Analysis is long known method of estimating the residual risks of a Design or Manufacturing Process or Inherent risk in the operation of a Product. We can use the Design FMEA (DFMEA) generated information in order to quantify the reliability and use this a baseline indicator of reliability to compare whether it meets the Reliability Target.
